Nickelodeon Theatre

The "Nick", as we call it, has been around since 1979 founded by two UofSC college students. All of their work was done by volunteer-basis. The same guy running the audio and film was making the popcorn in between. Since then, they've exploded!

They moved into a great new location on Main Street in 2012, put up an awesome marquee billboard and has been a favorite local theatre ever since. They have about 55,000 attendees annually. Showing everything from independent films to featured motion pictures.

We love that they show retro movies per season. They will show Christmas movies around Christmas time and fun Summer movies from your childhood in the Summer time. It's a great place to bring friends, the kids or even go on a date night.

There are two theaters, one upstairs and downstairs. They serve local beers and a selective wine list. For snacks you can find local confections like cupcakes and cookies, as well as delicious popcorn.

Mary Lane and her husband come so often, they are even members.

Pro-tip: As members you can receive complimentary tickets 🎟 , free popcorn 🍿 on Wednesdays and the inside scoop on new movies 📽 coming so you can get the first seats.

It's also home to Indie Grits, one of the top 20 independent film festivals in the world named by Movie Maker Magazine.
