As first time homebuyers, both our budget and our knowledge of the purchasing process were fairly low. Combined with the exorbitant growth of the city we were searching in (Greenville, SC) and the craziness of the market in 2022, we really didn't have a lot going for us. From our very first phone call, though, Carol Ann was super patient with our multitude of questions and extremely optimistic about us being able to find a house. She really went above and beyond as an agent. She answered all of our late night texts and managed to pull every last minute showing we asked for. But she was also an excellent teacher. I felt bad with how much she had to put up with as far as all of our (occasionally dumb) questions, but she always made us feel heard and understood. She helped us understand how to negotiate an appraisal gap for our offer, among other things, which I think is what helped us win the house. My wife has worked in a real estate office so we have a pretty accurate grasp on recognizing agents who may be financially successful but don't necessarily have a genuine respect or empathy for their clients. But Carol Ann definitely made us feel cared for, and she took the time to get to know and remember our numerous needs and desires, all the while maintaining a very helpful attitude of hope and optimism.
