The War Mouth
The War Mouth
We decided to branch out a little bit for our most recent Spotlight video and head up to the North Mainarea of town. With the addition of the new Columbia Fireflies stadium, there is a boom in business, and some the results are some great new restaurants. One of the newest and best restaurants in the area is a small southern eatery called The War Mouth.
Located perfectly in between Elmwood Park, Earlewood and Cottontown, The War Mouth is perfectly positioned for both downtown residents and visitors alike. The trendy new restaurant takes the place of an old service garage, that has been impeccably renovated to create a modern atmosphere. The open interior provides plenty of space for you and your friends to catch up over dinner or drinks.
The menu at The War Mouth is fairly limited, but every item has been hand selected by the chefs. Though limited, each dish is incredibly delicious. The lunchtime menu has staples such as a smoked pit beef sandwich, a pimento grilled cheese sandwich or a bowl of vegetable soup. Each dish is served with a side of pasta salad, potato salad or raw fries. Their dinner menu features a handful of different items such as curried quail eggs, venison, or a chicken bog. As usual, we each tried something different and everyone loved their meals!
We finished off our lunch with two desserts: a blueberry corn cake and a bourbon cream pie. The bourbon cream pie was a definite favorite among all the team members, and the blueberry corn cake was a delicious, cool, sweet summer treat.
We definitely recommend giving The War Mouth a try! It’s located in a great spot in town, especially if you’re looking for a restaurant to visit before heading over to a Columbia Fireflies game. Regardless, take a few minutes to stop in and try some of the incredible food that you can only find at The War Mouth! Check them out online at www.TheWarMouth.com.

Il Giorgione
Il Giorgione
With a passion for Italian culture, George (Giorgione) Kessler and his wife, Monica, set out to recreate their love for Italy with an authentic dining experience right here on Devine Street. Their menu offers thin crust gourmet pizzas, pastas, and a beautiful selection of imported wines.
Nicknamed "Gio's" by locals, this restaurant makes a great place for happy hour and date nights 💞; you'll even enjoy bringing a guest with you to enjoy a meal on their lovely outdoor patio.
We recently brought our entire team out for an enjoyable happy hour filled with appetizers, pizzas, and drink specials.
As soon as happy hour hit, we started off with a plate of their special "bruschetta of the day" followed by their Salumi e Formagi (better known as Charcuterie board). You can never go wrong splitting pizza with your co-workers, so we all ordered a variety of flavors: Margherita, Valtellina, and Emiliana (still can't get over that balsamic drizzle).
They provide an extensive 🍷 vino selection and they do offer a beer list as well.
PRO TIP: Happy hour is from 4 to 7 PM which means $1 off beer/wine glasses and $3 off wine bottles during the weekday, $5 Martinis on Tuesdays & Wednesdays, and $15 pitchers of Bellini on Thursday & Fridays.
Gio's does close on Sundays and Mondays so plan to pick back up the following Tuesday if you are wanting to try them out this week! We enjoy the atmosphere of being in an authentic Italian restaurant so close to us downtown. The traditional homemade recipes are what make the food so incredible.

Locals have loved coming to 929 Kitchen & Bar since it opened in the Vista back in 2017. With their authentic flavors, they're bringing the delicious tastes known in Korea here to downtown Columbia.
We ordered their popular dishes from the menu, bibimbap and the kimchi nachos. You can also find delicious desserts and drinks on their menu.

Craft + Draft
Craft + Draft
Columbia's premier craft beer store located in the heart of Devine Street. Not only can you easily navigate your favorite six pack to take home, but you can enjoy a nice pint from one of their twelve taps.
Craft and Draft features beverages from all over the country and the Carolinas. They have every kind of specialty beer you can think of - which makes it a really neat place to visit! From their tap selection, you can find local microbrews and great flight selections (I highly suggest ordering a flight to try a variety of what's available that day). There isn't a full menu, but small nibbles such as jerky, biltong, peanuts, and mini pizza pies.
We spent a happy hour hanging out and trying a couple of various brews. Bryan Quinn, associate agent, enjoys coming to Craft + Draft while getting the Dale's Pale Ale from Oscar Blue's Brewery from North Carolina. Other features we love are being able to bring our furry friends to socialize and being able to mix-and-match a six pack before heading home!
They're open from 11 AM to 8 PM Monday through Thursday, closing at 9 PM on Fridays, and 1-7 PM on Sundays. Be sure to stop in the next time you're in the Devine street area and let us know your favorite beer!
