Do you ever feel like you can never see past the clowns? They have big hair, lots of makeup and paint on, a smile plastered on their face, a funny looking car, and shinny threads, but of course it's all for show. Sure the clowns can do a half ass magic trick, but thats about it. They are there to draw your attention to what they are doing, and not letting you see the real true professionals like the tight rope walkers.

What's A Clown?

I feel that the typical agent is the clown in this Circus called real estate. They drive fancy cars, with logos, their name and maybe even their face plastered on the side. They have bedazzled name tags that they wear everywhere and they may have "celeberties" like Barbara Corcoran or Glen Beck standing beside them saying how "great this Clown is at selling houses". On a side note, do you think the agent on TV actually knew Glen Beck prior to commercial? You think the agent sold Glen Beck his current home? Hell no, he wrote a check, and flew to NYC to film it. Again, a clown.

I am tired of hearing agents on TV and Radio talk about if they don't sell your home they will buy it. Bullshit. Ask that agent how many homes they have bought, and in the rare circumstances they actually did, how far off was the actual purchase price from the price the home was listed for? Hell yeahI will buy your home for 60% of its market value too, who wouldn't.

And another thing that irks me is hearing all of these testimonials on the airwaves where the leading line is "they sold my house in 4mins and I also had 6 back up overs for over asking price". Umm... I think that is a problem. Yes sometimes in this Circus, things do go multiple offers and even over asking price, but it shouldn't be every single time. That means this Clown is under pricing homes. Of course 18.5 people will want a home in a desirable market if its listed $20k under market value.

Pay Attention to the Tight Rope Walker

The tight rope walker is the star of the show. This is a person that is solely focused on one thing, getting from point A to point B without failing. Sure they may have some theatrics like videos, drones, and kick ass social media post, but at the end of the day they are focused one thing, get to point B.

The Tight Rope Walkers in real estate are the ones that you may not have known sold the home next to you, until you get the notification from Zillow. These are the ones that don't always sell homes in 4 mins, but rather sell the home for as much as possible for as fast as possible. These are the people that evaluate their properties for what they are. Maybe they are the best in neighborhood, maybe they need a big hug, and maybe they need to be torn down. They use their forward thinking to market the house in the best light possible to make sure they can get the most money possible for the house they have. These are the people that try to distract you with rubber noses, falling down and offering to buy your house. You know why? Because they do what works, they don't need a net underneath them to catch them, they are the ones you want.
