Fall is my favorite season of the year! Although, I may be biased because my birthday just happens to be in September.  Fall is loved for many other reasons too such as college football starting, old and new shows returning to our TVs, and the opportunity to break out our V Neck sweaters. Fall is especially great because it brings that special feeling of peace when you wake up in the morning and there is a crisp to the air, the humidity isn't ridiculous, and landscape becomes a work of art. So there shouldn't be any surprise that we hold our largest community event in October, Pumpkin Picking. If you haven't had the opportunity to make it to our past 8 events, you are missing out.

This year it was held at Emily Douglas Park in Shandon, where we bought 6 pallets (aka 250 large pumpkins), rented two large inflatable bounce house and slides, had snow cones, and ate plenty of "pumpkin poo". So you may ask why do we spend thousands of dollars to have a Pumpkin Pickin? Well, we believe in  building communities, creating neighborhood bonds, and celebrating fellowship. Watching children play and laugh while others share stories and pick out their favorite pumpkin brings life to our event, which is why we have it and why we will continue to have it for many years to come. So if you missed out on it this year, mark it in your calendars for next year and join us in this awesome celebration.
