I grew up in a small, Midwestern town smack dab in the middle of Illinois. It was a great place to grow up, but it wasn’t where I wanted to spend the rest of my life. Like many, I had a desire to see the world, meet new people, and spread my wings. For me, that meant enlisting in the US Navy at the age of 22, but not before I married my high school sweetheart Stephanie three days before basic training. 

Our journey with the Navy took us all over the states and around the world. From 2006 to 2012, I served on active duty as a Naval Nuclear Engineer. I’m so grateful for the life-lessons I learned during that time: incredible attention to detail, a strong work ethic, poise under pressure, and more importantly, how to work in a close community with people from every background and walk of life. I wouldn’t trade those years for anything! 

In 2012, I finished my enlistment in the Navy and moved to Chicago where I attended Moody Bible Institute and Moody Theological Seminary studying Pastoral Ministry and Leadership. Nuclear Engineering to ministry was a big jump. I was often asked why, and the answer is simple: I wanted my life and career to be spent serving other people. I spent the next 10 years in vocational ministry and am so grateful for the life-long relationships forged during that time. 

In 2017, ministry brought our family to Columbia, and we’ve called it home ever since. We instantly fell in love with a city that has so much to offer. Affordable cost of living, great schools for our kids, and let’s be honest- you can’t find too many cities that are two hours from the beach and two hours from the mountains! In my free time you’ll find me playing golf, banging on my drums, playing board games with my family, or hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains. 

Moving to a career in Real Estate has been a natural next step for me. I love people, new places, and solving problems. Most of all though, I’m thrilled to help others experience the joys and freedom of owning their own home.
